SNAPSHOT: Total Cases in ASEAN crossed the 35,000 mark today with 1,753 New Cases across all 10 member states. Singapore has reported the highest number of New Cases for the fifth-day running (1,037) while New Cases in Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia have also risen. 32 New Deaths were reported today bringing Total Deaths to 1,272 with the majority in Indonesia and the Philippines. Other New Deaths were in Malaysia (2), Thailand (1) and Singapore (1). No fatalities were reported in all the other ASEAN member states. For better insight into how all 10 nations are truly coping with the deadly COVID-19 pandemic, we have introduced a new section to our chart – Active Cases – which refers to the number of people currently receiving treatment for the disease. There are almost 25,000 Active Cases in ASEAN, of which slightly more than 10,000 (40%) are in Singapore. Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia are the other countries with the highest number of Active Cases today.
